OUR APPROACH TO BODYWORK and
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING YOUR SESSION:
At Backbeats Bodywork, we believe in co-created treatments that are holistic, therapeutic, creative, and client-centered. Goals for each session are discussed beforehand, and massages are customized to meet the unique needs of each client. We take care to establish a foundation of trust and communication, and blend techniques such as: deep tissue, myofascial release, energy healing, sports massage and Swedish. Music is incorporated as an integrated part of the healing process. We offer a highly specialized variety of custom, hand-made, and unconventional-yet-relaxing, musical playlist options for your session. After each treatment, we will discuss a follow-up plan that meets your needs, and do our best to support you in getting any additional services that might benefit your healing process.
MEET YOUR THERAPIST!
Katie Sachs, LMBT#17283 has been practicing as a licensed massage therapist since 2016, and is also a musician, writer, and licensed clinical mental health counselor in-training (**currently working towards a masters degree.**) The daughter of two social workers, Katie began her professional career working with youth in the mental health field as an AmeriCorps member, and later case manager, in 2009. From her work in the non-profit world and community organizing, she brings a philosophy of empathy, client-centeredness, respect and ethics into her bodywork practice. Katie understands the importance of client trust and that sessions must be co-created. You are the expert of your body, and the therapist's role is to facilitate healing through deep listening and collaboration.
Katie has also been a professional musician and recording artist since 2012. From her music background, she brings an understanding of flow, rhythm/timing, and an ability to "channel, shift, and clear" stuck energies that may be inhibiting vitality. She also uses her vast understanding of music to craft one-of-a-kind massage playlists for an even more enjoyable and multi-sensory healing experience.
Katie radiates a presence that is soothing, safe, and supportive - a true healing energy. She integrates all of her professional experiences into a body work practice that is simultaneously nurturing, relaxing, and effective.
She looks forward to being a part of your healing journey!
